Bunt foul?

Post by ixamnis » Mon Apr 11, 2016 6:32 pm

Any way to have it say foul bunt or bunt foul if you swipe the foul button?

A bunt foul is just a foul. You can enter a foul ball and add a note saying it was a bunt if you would like. On a third strike, you will have the option of saying it was a bunt foul.

When we swip foul, (on iOS for sure) Program offers buttons to enter the hit type of foul ( soft medium hard, bunt, pop up, line etc ) and location. But the information does not get captured in pitch by pitch ( nor editable there) nor Broadcast scorecasted

It seems like the program should be update to include that as standard practice. Information like that that is entered should be reported through to pitch by pitch and broadcasted.

I use an android phone and nothing happens when I swipe the foul button. I realize a foul on a bunt is just a foul for stat purposes unless it is after two strikes. I was thinking for scorecast and information purposes it would be nice to record. Especially in a situation where you are trying to move a runner. A strike swinging is also just a strike but you can still record it on an android phone even if it is not on the third strike.

For iscorecasts, it is easy to add a quick note "bunt foul" to add color for the viewers. I've created several keyboard shortcuts for popular situations (ball out of play, bunt foul, pop-up foul, etc.)

I agree that it would be helpful to see foul bunts. Would be a good coaching tool!

My experience with adding notes usually involves having to ask someone what happened on the next two pitches! Have no idea how to create a keyboard shortcut either although it would appear if I did that might solve my issue with both fouls on bunts and avoiding adding notes while scoring a game.

My point is more directed to the developers...

Hey team..looks like a simple code loop miss.. Programming is complete in app (on iOS) for foul swipe key strokes but that information is not published out, looks like Missed the code branch, service call, to update pitch by pitch and Iscorecast. In the swipe foul actions..

I am not on android at the moment , sounds like 'swipe foul' feature may not yet be coded on android platform.. And I know then on your radar and prioritization process ..
