OVERRIDE IN PLAY BY PLAY and links to scorecard

Post by Eddie38 » Thu Feb 12, 2015 11:53 am

Sometimes the crazy happens. An error is marked and it's really a triple but only one base allowed yadda yadda.

I would love it if ALL HITS/ERRORS options were available in the running play by play section --- so that a full rescore isn't necessary. I know you can just override stats but it would be great if you could say double instead of single in the play by play and it overrides itself without messing up the program itself (trying to send it extra bases that it cannot after the fact). I simple change to ANY scoring event with "notes" perhaps --- then all stats are complete (ability to add RBI if possible too) ... guessing this was addressed in just the override stats function but it would be great to do it in play by play.

I still think somehow linking to the SCOREBOOK would be VERY helpful. Say, you open the scorecard and you immediately see the problem play --- which is sometimes much harder to find in the play by play ---- click that box and it links you immediately to the proper play by play edit box. That would be a huge plus factor in my book.

:)

The overriding of stats is intended for this purpose. We have outlined in many posts how the ripple effect of baseball events makes editing limited (e.g. if you moved a runner from 2nd to 3rd who was later entered as picked off at second, you would wind up with an impossible situation... there are an infinite number of examples like this). Adding notes and overriding stats is the way to fix situations that can not be edited in the pitch by pitch listing. The following link covers the various ways that edits can be made:
