In youth baseball I was a firm believer in no stats available to the team unless specifically requested by the coach. There were way too many parent issues. Their seems to be a fair amount of emotion attached to youth baseball, hence not enough objectivity. As the players get older and perhaps more seasoned parents there is less emotion. I now distribute the stats password after the first game scored. I rarely have issues now as opposed to youth baseball.

I think the important thing with stats is consistency. Some teams especially at lower levels and/or younger ages do not have a dedicated scorekeeper / statistician. That makes it hard because there really is a lot in baseball that is subjective.

As a scorekeeper, my number one priority is to be consistent throughout the season with how I score. That way the stats will tend to balance out after a while - a least relative to the other players on the team.

Anyway - one thing I do to avoid entering multiple addresses is use my gmail account to create a "group". I always send the stats to myself with a "tag" in the email address.

So if your regular email address is: scorekeeper@gmail.com you can add a tag to the address by appending a "+" and a label. The label can be anything you want. So the address you use in iscore looks like: scorekeeper+iscorestats@gmail.com.

The first time you send yourself stats you can create a new mail filter - by selecting "filter messages like this" then making sure the "to:" address is your "tagged address". You can set the action of the filter to forward mail to any number of addresses or your predefined contact group.

sorry it sounds pretty complex when you are writing it out, but its not that hard. Maybe I'll write up a tutorial with screen shots and post it online somewhere if people need it.
