Wild Pitch = Ball?

Post by STLMetsFan5 » Tue Jul 21, 2015 4:59 am

Could it be set up where a wild pitch is automatically recorded as a ball? I know there are very rare instances where batters will swing at a wild pitch, but in the vast majority of circumstances, it can save us a keystroke by automatically recording a ball on a WP. We could use "undo" in those rare situations where a batter swings.

Or, when there is a runner on base, there could be a "quick" WP button and then it asks if it was a ball or strike when it asks what happened to the runners?

Just brainstorming here.

A wild pitch is not an indicator of a pitch - it is used to say how a baserunner advanced a base. You would tap Ball on the main screen to enter the pitch, and if a runner advances a base on a wild pitch, you would select that as the way the runner was safe at the next base. If there are multiple base runners, each can advance on a wild pitch, and you would not want a ball registered for each runner.
