Catcher effectiveness stats for youth ball

Post by mikenc » Tue Apr 15, 2014 5:02 am

I'd like to request some additional fielding stats specific to the catcher position. In youth ball with more WPs and PBs, keeping the ball off the backstop can make a significant difference in the game. Here are a few suggestions:
- Pitches thrown while at the 2 position & Passed Balls per pitch %
- Batters faced at 2 & Passed Balls per batter faced %

And then an interesting idea from this thread, is a record of "pitches blocked" with runners on, to hold the runners. Basically when the catcher holds the runners on a pitch in the dirt, and saves the pitcher from a Wild Pitch.

Thanks!

As noted in your other post about this, if you enable the AP2 stat, it shows the number of innings a player appeared at catcher (position 2).
