Change in Iscorecast viewing for Mobile devices (answered)

Post by Thomsonpro » Wed Mar 14, 2018 2:57 am

Whenever I send the link fore iscorecast it has the screen to download the app on a mobile device. Is there a way to get past that screen so someone can watch it on the browser and not on the app?

If they are on a computer, they can watch in a browser. For mobile devices, you will need to view from the mobile application (either iScore Central, or we now offer Watch Game from within iScore Baseball on iOS as well).

I just noticed now you’re charging for people to watch the game. I’ve been using this for over 7 years and the reason I stayed with you is because you didn’t charge people to watch like the other app does. Now that you’re going to start charging I may as well go to that company instead. Very disappointing. You should charge me $5. Now you’re just like them. Too bad.

If you have an iScore Team Website, there is no additional charge for individuals to watch the iScorecasts in iScore Central for your team.

I can attest this works well. you will see an unlocked padlock in Central viewer app next to the game.
(fyi u can also create a password and provide to Fans if you want added restrictions.)

The $20/yr web site subscription juts got more added value.

I disagree, when you compare features on iscore verse competitors, I think you will still find a higher quality product and better price/value proposition.

Same here. Also not impressed with the new view of the iScore cast. The old format was like watching MLB At Bat, pitch location and images. Unless these things change, iScore products lose a lot of appeal. I’ve been using iScore for at least 7-8 years. Disappointing developments.

The "At Bat like" iscorecast Web browser version is still there for free. just not on mobile devices.

If your team uses the Team Web site subscription (20$/yr), everyone gets to watch for free on mobile devices too.

I am not sure what you are missing in the mobile version? the same images are still there and sharper on a small screen. Can you be more specific?

The mobile viewer was designed and optimized to bettet fit the smaller phone screen and is designed for faster update and less data use. The mobile version has All the game data from web version just in cleaner and larger type. You get the line up and stats and play by play all the same info as Web version, now optimized for a smaller screen. you still have a player field, and shows in play hit locations. you still have batter icons (male and female), left and right side batters, you can add photos and toggle between player names or photos. you still get pitch by pitch graphic with color coded balls/strikes and pitch number. if your scorekeeper provides, you can get location and tap for more details, to get pitch type and speed. your scorekeeper can also add team logos.

PLUS the mobile version offers a hands free audio playback that is truly unique (not available on web version) . the developers continue to add features like in IOS devices, double click on players in line up and see their stats (expect to be added to android version soon). and in green app "watch game" they added a box score and photo tab (expect to be added to mobile viewer app in time). Plus they have more integration with other mobile apps like sports engine, si play and tourney machine for the entire fan / parent experience.

as a long time user, you should find the price value still great. the TEAM WEB site subscription is affordable at 20$/year. And hopefully gets more developer time to improve products. And with that purchase your fans get free watching. on both android and iOS mobile devices and web platforms. that beats MLB and other competitor products on price point for a team.

plus lets not forget the core baseball/softball functions are still very strong. .. iscore continues to lead in stat quality and quantity..

(FYI - I am not an employee , just a long time user of iscore )..

It may have been a server or connectivity issue. I tried again the next day and it seemed to be working better. IScore is so much better than the competition as far as actually scoring the game, I decided to give the team website a try. So far I am pleased. The browser replay of the game works great on my desktop. Looking forward to trying it live and checking out mobile version.
