import stats by game for a previous season (answered, pending user followup if need)

Post by gmish » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:46 pm

We have been using iscore for a few years now and would like to import some stats for a previous season. The league is already created on the device (albeit with no games associated with it). I believe within my iscorecentral login there is a way to import a csv file with season stats, but I am wondering if there is a way to import the stats game by game so that each game is visible? Is it possible to do this, or can we only import an entire season of stats all at once?

If I can import a previous season stats game by game, how would I go about doing this?

Thank you.

Yes, the Admin site has a way to import game by game with CSV files...

I wrote a thread on importing CSV files this a few months back.. see link for more detailed info ....
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11420

the thread is pretty detailed, heads up the first step is "tedious"... configuring your existing data in spreadsheet format for iscore input (aka data cross mapping) but once you have the data cross reference down pat, the rest goes fast. If you have say ten games in same format, once you figure out how to map the first game, games number 2 to 10 is quick, it is the first one that takes time.

SPECIAL NOTES/ THOUGHTS

when you bring in the CSV file, your device treats it like a "game" in game manager with some 'important peculiarities"
* the game only has 1 team,
* the date is odd, You can manually edit the date
* you can also assign the game to leagues just like any other game..
* but you can not share it by Data Share with another device .. (because data share blows up at the thought of a 1 team game)
* also the game will not "sync" to the backup server (A lesson i learned is SAVE your CSV files, b/c you may find you need to import it again if you loose your device)
