Online Team Stats

Post by ewebave » Tue Oct 15, 2013 6:59 pm

I keep the iscore and stats for our high school's team. The coaches would like a way to see the stats. Is there a link I can give them where they can get the stats? or do I have to email them the stats every time?

It looks to me like I could create a team website in order to be able to have this feature. That just seems like overkill to me. I would think iscore would have a way to automatically allow the coaches to see the stats online somewhere. Am I missing something?

The optional team website add on is the way to accomplish this. A bargain for $20/yr in my opinion.

Ok- so here's my dilemma. I create a new team each season- because they play fall ball, official high school ball in the spring, then summer ball. The team isn't always made up of the same kids, so I really want each team separate. Besides, I noticed on the scorecard, it shows career stats, which I don't want. A freshman's stats can be hugely different from their senior stats, so I even recreate the player, so it's only showing that season's stats as the career stats. I don't know, maybe I'm doing this wrong. In any case, and back to the original problem, would I then need to create a new website each season- paying the $ 20 for each season? That seems like a lot.

No. You can change the team a website is associated with any time you like. Just give it a name that is generic enough that it can cover all your teams... maybe "ewebave" or whatever makes sense.

Echo the team web site subscription mprusak recommends..

And the point from ftmsupport -you can re assign team site associated at any time

Some add on thoughts ...

Web site is easy to set up- - one time effort= less than five minutes in default colors, within 15-30 minutes you can customize to fit your school colors. Updating after every game is as simple as Option Export. Which is
Faster than emailing every game. And allows a coach to visit site any
Time and sort stats easy on line ( you can password protect too if you want).

Note. Currently the web site does not have all the stats your excel file has ! You hand held added a bunch of stats with version 4.0. The web site only has the main stats available in version 1-3.

Suggestion . You should investigate use of leagues. That is a great way to group seasons or subsets in a season like preseason scrimmages, conference games, post season. You can also set up web site to allow user to pick leagues or not.

The leagues allow a player to isolate freshman vs sophomore vs junior vs senior year stats AND have lifetime stats too.
Scorecard Does not include cumulative stats, just game scoresheet and not stats.
If you are referencing the iscorecast including career stats, in the admin site you can toggle that on/off or limit to singular leagues.

I use leagues and do not create multiple versions of same players

Thanks for all the help everyone. I actually do use leagues, but then I don't see the player to add to the roster. How do I pull them in without also having selected another league (or season- this is how I divide my seasons).

Also, since I created a player so many times, is there a way to merge them?

1- Yes there is a player merge function.
(See the online documentation for more detailed help)
But basically turn on "all" league in league manager. Then go to player manager and you will see a merge button on bottom left ( on iOS device)and follow on screen directions - merge right player into left player. (For android if not a merge button bottom left try the context menu once in player manager

2- you can make all players visible when making rosters by first enabling ALL league . The ALL is a special league that makes everything visible . When you enable a league only players, teams games assigned to that league are visible. If no leagues selected, you will not see any players teams or games under teams payer or game manager

3-Use league manager, tap on league (arrow) > to quickly assign games, teams and players to appropriate leagues. In addition to making sure all games are assigned to correct leagues . You need to assign your "web site teams" to appropriate leagues ( many people forget this) . You can also assign players to leagues so they are visible when you have a specific league on ( but player assignment is less critical as long as team is assigned to league)

ohhhhhhhhhh! I was wondering why there was an "All" league, and also a Default. That explains the difference! Thanks!

ALL league is very helpful.

Leagues are very useful. And very flexible. A Players/team/games can be assigned to multiple leagues ( not just one). Your .. Also you can enable more than one at once .. It lets you group in very flexible ways

Remember the player or team stats will only be for enabled leagues

Thus if you set up freshman or JV or varsity leagues and assigned appropriate games .,. if you later enabled say only freshman league would see only freshman stats in player or team manager . if you enabled say both JV and Varsity at together ., would see combined varsity and Jv stats. ( excluding freshman)

Hello again. I went ahead and purchased the annual website. However, I can't seem to see the league that I've selected. I'm showing the statistics from last year, but not this year. Here's what I did for this year. I added another league called "pre-season games 2014". I scored a scrimmage from this year under the same team as last year, but with only the "pre-season games 2014" league selected. When finished, I ran an export. Then I went to the website to view it and it only shows the players from last year with all the stats from last years games. Nothing from this year and no players from this year.
