How would you score a throwing error by the pitcher on a pick off attempt at first where the runner advances to second? How will your answer appear on the scorecard? Thanks.

If the next batter gets a hit, how will scorecard distinguish the error on a pickoff attempt from an error occuring on the play following the hit?

Why would it have to distinguish them?

To provide a complete accurate reconstruction of the game from the scorecard. Isn't that one of the functions of the scorecard?

If you add a note to the play, that note will appear on the scorecard. Pickoff attempts do not appear on the scorecard, but they do appear in pitch by pitch / play by play.

I believe the scorecard will also show the runner advancing the base with an error (E1) rather than an advance by the batter which would show as an AB4 (for example if the next batter was number 4 in the lineup.)
