batch import player roster

Rather then trying to explain by typing I made this quick screencast for my question

what am I missing here?

It looks like you have "special characters" in the data you are copy / pasting. (There are certainly tabs in there, and we don't know what else may be in there). The batch import expects spaces as delimiters, not tabs or other special characters.

the confusing part is that some of the names work when importing multiple with no rhyme nor reason...in the list I could see no difference between any of the names....they were in 2 columns with a space between first and last

I fixed it very simply by removing all the spaces between the names and then re-adding 1 space between Firstname LastName....I imported 1 full division ( 61 players ) and split them to teams in approx 5 minutes

I've noticed this behavior as well. Like you just stated, if you delete the spacing then add a single space this tends to alleviate the problem. Its kind of finicky.

What I have done is create a simple template in Excel that I can copy paste the names and then it gives me a clean output file with names, numbers, batting yes/no, right/left, etc to copy into the batch load area.
