Hi, I'm getting ready for the 2013 high school season. One of the features the parents look forward to is the live scoring via scorecast. I have already entered all the leagues, teams, players and games and exported the data. When I go to the admin website i see all the games listed but when I go to scorecast I see most of the games but not all. Also, the games that are listed on the scorecast website are in no particular order. Aren't they suppose to be listed by sate order? I double checked date and times on all my games and they are correct. I also made sure scorecast was enabled in the option section.
Am I doing something wrong?

Re: iScorecast
We recommend creating the games the day of the game, and not pre-entering all the games. The games appear on the iScorecast site according to most recently updated game. The reason for this is otherwise you would have to wade through all scheduled games to get to the current game.
For games that are not appearing, you can go to Game Manager, select the game, scroll down to iScorecast Synchronize and tap that to re-send the game up to the iScorecast server.
By waiting until the day of the game to create it, you will avoid many problems that can occur from pre-creation. One of the main ones is changing team rosters. If a player is added to or leaves your team during the season, for the games you have pre-created, you will have to add or remove those players from the lineup for each game.
It only takes about 30 seconds to create a new game when the teams already exist.

Re: iScorecast

Re: iScorecast
Creating day of game and not in advance is definitely the way to go.
I email myself the game link before start of game, then forward to a distribution list so that everyone has the link to that game just before it starts. The email also serves as a reminder for those not present at the game.

Re: iScorecast
Ok, I understand the reason for adding games on game day for scorecast and its easier for the parents to find the gamesbut the reason I add all at one time is so I can cut down on the upload of data. I connect my tablet using a hotspot (4g). So I try to do as much before the game when I have a wifi connection. Also, how and where do you get the link as posted above? When I go to a game and attempt to sync the game for iscore it tells me no connection when I am surfing on wifi?
Any fedback woukd be appreciated. Also, does anyone know when the full landscape update will be available for the android tablets?

Re: iScorecast
If you have an optional iScore team website, you can plug in your team website name in place of the name in the URL above. If you do not have a team website, you can plug in your customer ID as found on the Options screen in iScore.
We do not understand what you mean by "When I go to a game and attempt to sync the game for iscore it tells me no connection when I am surfing on wifi". What are you doing to attempt to sync?
The scoring screen on Android tablets works in Landscape mode. What is it that you want to do in Landscape mode other than the scorekeeping that would make it better than Portrait mode?

I'm not quite clear on this either. Can you clarify so that we can attempt to help you better?hs_scorekeeper wrote:Ok, I understand the reason for adding games on game day for scorecast and its easier for the parents to find the gamesbut the reason I add all at one time is so I can cut down on the upload of data. RE: "Upload of data on 4G vs wifi": I dont think you are saving anything here. First of all, the amount of data used to score an entire game is tiny (probably measured in kbs). More to the point though, the creation of the game is not using anything (wifi or 4G)...its not until the game begins that you start uploading any data.
Also, the bigger problem with scheduling games ahead of time is roster and lineup makeup. From game to game there should be minimal changes (likely no roster change and maybe minor lineup changes). However, over course of season, more likely to have changed (maybe not roster, though possible, but probably lineup). Since when you create a game, you are taking a snapshot of your current roster to create that games lineup, its always best to grab it in its most recent state.
