Downloading stats from I score error message

Post by Oilers17 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 8:45 am

When I download my cumulative stats from I score the computer will not open it because of a wrong extension. It appears as teamstats.xls but will not open, because it is in a different format than specified by the file extension. It then says the file is corrupt and is removed because the data could pose a security risk.
The individual pages of batting pitching and fielding are ok because they are .csv
Any ideas how to get around this?

The Excel format we use is an XML format that has been valid for many versions of Excel. If it is not opening for you, then it sounds like you may have an older version of Excel that is not compatible with this format. You can open the CSV files in Excel as well however.

I always get the same (or similar?) message.

Selecting YES will open the file, however.

Change the extension to xlsx and see what happens. Excel is pretty stupid in that the extension rules, no matter what the data looks like.

I have tried the file as is and have changed the extension to .xlsx and I'm still getting the excel error. I am using Office 2010 so that's a pretty new version of Excel. Any ideas on what else may be going on? I am curious what stats are in the "teamstats" file. Is there anything unique that isn't covered in any of the .csv files? I was hoping to find a team stat for "left on base".

The Excel data is exactly the same as the CSV data. LOB is only available in the line score of the game stats.

Where can I find the "game line score" that you mention that has lob stats?

When you are in the Game Info screen for the game, at the top it has a column for "R"uns, "H"its, "E"rrors, and "L"eft on Base.

When you send the game email, the HTML that is sent includes that same box/line score with the "L" column which represents left on base.
