TIP: What is the Difference in team website, iscorecast, my.iscorecentral.com, & Admin Site - FAQ

I'm loving this app and want to use all the functionality but am having problems with how to handle the website. In general, here are my questions probably showing my lack of comprehension:

1) When someone refers to the team website, is this the same as iScorecast or a team website that teams create on their own?

2) Which site do I use as the scorekeeper and which site do I give to parents to watch the game in progress or check stats at the end of a game?

3) After I score a game on iScore, do I export it, email it, synchronize it, data share it, or i-ScoreCast it?

4) When I go to my.iscorecentral.com and type in my User name and Password, there are old games that I do not want to appear here (under the Exported tab). How do I get them off? They are from a league that no longer exists. And some games are there that are on a league that I have marked as "NO" but still show up.

5) Also in my.iscorecentral.com under the Games tab, there is a "Scorecasts" option. What is this for?

Is there a Help section on how to use all these items? Found a lot of discussions in the forum but most were starting way over my head.

Thanks.

Welcome! Lets see if we can help you out on some of these:

1. Team website is an optional add-on that allows for viewing of your teams stats and other information. Well worth the $20 per year.
(see Team Web site marketing page here http://iscoresports.com/baseball/addons.php)

2. Others can follow your games (live or archived) from this site: http://data.iscorecentral.com/iscorecas ... cast.html? (FYI you can customize the URL to bypass the user having to enter the customer ID or team name by using the following url structure http://data.iscorecentral.com/iscorecas ... xxxxxxxxxx (replace the x's w/ your customer ID number or team website name to create a direct link).

3a) As the scorekeeper you can access your information on your "admin website": http://my.iscorecentral.com
(you can find the user id and password for your admin web site on your device under device > iscore app > options > Admin Website > customer ID and password )

3b. Always export after scoring a game. This sends a backup to the iscore servers. This also populates your team website. Email if you want to send others or yourself data from a scored game. All sync does is send the scorecard to your website. This will happen automatically when you email it to anyone as well.

Data sharing is the method used to send data from one device to another. So, if you had a ipad and iphone you would use data sharing share data between them. Or if you have multiple people scoring games each using their own devices.

iscorecast (if turned on) will happen automatically whenever an internet connection is available.

4. If you truly dont want these games, then delete in the app and re-export. However, deleting is usually not recommended. Instead, you can use leagues to manage these games with in the app. They will continue to appear on your admin website though, as there is no league filtering on the admin site.

more info on LEAGUES here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1531

5. the iscorecast server is separate from your main data. You can go to your admin site http://my.iscorecentral.com click on games tab and Scorecast page and mange the scorecast listings. You can delete games from the iscorecast server so they dont show up on your iscorecast website.

Training videos and guide here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1680

Hope this helps...

I am also adding a link to a semi related FAQ on iScore's public website

Just turn off syncronazation and iscorecast in Options. you can score locally on your device and not broadcast or sync anywhere.

Remember then to Option > Export after a game however to back up the data on iscore servers,
