2 Ipads - a dilemma

This year I agreed to coach two teams and talked my wife into buying me a second ipad so that I could have one each dedicated to scoring a team.
I hooked up my second ipad to see if it would let me synch the iscore app and it did! So we used it and have scored 17 games with it so far while also scoring 17 games on the older ipad with my other team.
Well yesterday I went to set up websites for each team and with the old ipad it worked perfect, no problem.
When I went to set up the other team on the new ipad it came up with an error which said "You can't purchase this. You must purchase the app that this item is for before you can purchase the item".
After scratching my head a few minutes it dawned on my that it wants me to buy the iscore app again before I can proceed to setting up the website.
Now I don't have a problem paying another ten bucks and didn't realize there was a license issue when I synched iscore on the second ipad (I figured if there was it wouldnt have let me do it).
The question now becomes: how do I pay for the app for the second ipad now that it's already on there and how can I do it without losing those 17 games? Ideally I will pay the $10 license fee and then another $20 to set up the site but if I can't transfer those 17 games to the site I won't bother.
