New To Iscore, A Few Questions

I just bought the APP today, and did my 1st game tonight. I love this APP, but I do have a few of questions. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks in advance.

1] Can you email pitch-by-pitch data at the end of the game? I did not see it as an option.

2] When I emailed the game stats, there was no winning/losing pitcher assigned. I just see where it would go.
"WP: -, LP: -, SP: -" just shows up underneath the inning box score at the top of the email. I see all innings pitched are accounted for on both teams.

3] I see you can Tweet things. Is there any plans for a Facebook option?

4] The some of the bottom set of buttons were not active during the play of the game (Exit & Tools). Is this normal?

Again thanks in advance.

Also ...

When watching the GameCast, I notice that all strikes that were not scored as a foul ball show as striking looking. Is there a strike swinging option.

Welcome to the forum!

1) No. you can not email the pitch by pitch. (this has been suggested to developers on this board as an enhancement idea). You can however get a 'compressed' version of pitch by pitch, called play by play, from the free Admin web site. (post back if you need more info on the admin site access)

2) The WP/LP/SV have to be manually entered by you on the game info screen after a game (scroll down on game info screen and you will see the options,) . The reason manual is because too many league and rule variations to have it automatically completed. iScore used for softball and baseball from youth to pro level. so the developers decided to leave flexible with manual entry. It becomes part of your post game routine. Pretty easy once you know you need to do it

3) no Facebook option at this time. It has ben mentioned in the forum by users as a future idea for consideration. but the technical needs behind the scenes is different. If you have not tried the iscorecast, i recommend giving it a look, it is a neat way for remote folks to get updated / follow along

4) That is not normal. Exit and tools buttons should be active between plays from the main scoring screen. Please provide specifics on the type of android device you noticed this on, and any specifics wen it occured so developers can look into it.

5) Strike swinging can be recorded when scoring by swiping the out button (vs tapping) , this becomes second nature after a few games. (like wise intentional ball when you swipe ball, also if you swipe out button some quick out entry options are available, eg 4-3 out).

.Welcome to iscore, the best way to get familiar with the app is to view the online video tutorials, score a few games and then jump back to forum when you have questions // the community here can be very responsive and helpful. enjoy.

Thanks for the info & the welcome, OhioTex. All-in-all, my first night of using/trying Iscore was very easy. I really like this software.

1] PITCH-BY-PITCH: I did discover the free web site later after my post. I think I can make that work for what I am hoping/looking for. I also figured out how to sync the two sources (web/phone).

2] WP/LP/SV: That's helpful info that I did not see when researching this product (I bet I watched each video 3-4 times). Makes sense. Easy enough to adjust to.

3] FACEBOOK: Wasn't sure how much battery life Iscorecast would take for a four-game-day (in one day) without being able to recharge (hard to find outlet during kid's baseball team). Thought FB posts would take less battery. I was surprised how much battery life I had after last night's 9 inning game. Game length 2:38, and used about 20%, and dealt with about 30 text messages during the game.

Not a big deal. I have set up a quick text-to-blog site for the team for this reason, so I can continue to do it that way. Was just looking to have a one-button option. (NOTE: none of the parents have Twitter. Facebook Country in our neck of the woods).

4] BUTTONS NOT ACTIVE: I planned to try the APP again in different situations and take notes.

For any tech advisers monitoring this thread, HTC Merge / Android 2.2 (if needed, provider is US Cellular, but doubt that effects things). Basically, once the game was started, the buttons went white, and the words were very hard to see. "Undo" worked, but "Exit" and "Tools" did nothing when I touched them. I tried several different ways to make a response happen. I did see the button change color (green), so it appeared to register the attempt. I also had no response when trying to email the post-game data.

Once I ended the game & the software, everything (buttons and email) worked as predicted.

Again I thank you for the advice. It's helpful to have someone who has used this software to guide me along as I learn it myself.

Also ...

Once you said the strike looking versus swinging, I did remember that from the videos. Thanks.

The email function should work.. As long as you have Internet connectivity..

Enter standard email addresses, separate by spaces if doing multiple addresses..

Did two games today, and have more data.

EXIT/TOOLS BUTTONS NOT WORKING PROPERLY:
The buttons on the bottom go white at various times of the game. I could not see any action that cased it. When this happened, the "Exit" and "Tools" button did nothing no matter how times I tried to push them. The "Undo" button still worked properly.

If I backed out of the play screen by using the Phone's back button (& then returned to the pregame screen), when I returned to the play screen, all buttons returned to normal and operational. It happened about 3 times in the two 9 inning games I did today.

EMAIL NOT WORKING PROPERLY:
I was not able to email the post-game data after the second game. I did not have time to try after the first game. We did it watching a game on TV, and we had to leave to make the local game in our hometown. I typed in a proper email address, hit send, but nothing happened. I did this right before we left the stadium. It was still on that screen when we returned home (10 minutes). I checked my inbox, and I saw nothing.

Prior to the start of the game, I sent and email with the Games Cast link to a friend, so he could test the Game Cast feature. The email I tried to send the post game data was different. I typed in to the box that is available to send the post game data. I went back into the Play screen, pushed tools, sent another Game Cast Link email, and I changed it to the email I wanted it to go to. That arrived fine. I then tried the post game email. The default email was the newly typed email (from the Game Cast Link), and it worked just fine.

I had trouble the night before when I tried to type an email address for the post game data. It worked both times after I typed in the email via the Game Cast Link. I.E. If I did NOT type an email for the post game data, it worked fine. If I typed in an email at the post game data window, it did NOT work properly.

FTM support monitors this forum and I suspect will look in the inactive buttons..

The email issue.. sounds like a data connection issue.. Do you have the problem when in a known high quality connection place ( eg wi fi)??. Emails should go out in less than a minute. The second most common issue is receiver spam filters...

The software does not run on a computer, it only runs on the mobile device. You can email yourself the data from within iScore, but the application itself is only intended to run on mobile devices.
