Courtesy runners, not pinch runners.
In our league we allow a courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher (the two hardest working positions). These runners come from the sub bench, and only run, they do not play defense or bat until they come in as a regular sub. If we put them in as a courtesy runner will they still be on the sub list so they can replace a fielding position, and will the original pitcher or catcher still be in the game. Also, when a player is substituted for and comes out will he be available to courtesy run (after a substitution, the player can usually only go back in at his original position in the line-up).
