Error in making all players 'bat'
Error in making all players 'bat'
I tried iscore for the first time and my mistake was when I set the lineup I erroneously had everyone (all 12) "batting". Thus, when the leadoff came to the plate the 2nd time, what was reflected as the batter was player 10. I think I tried resolving it wrongly which is why it got worse. What I did was to go to play-by-play, go to game start and then edit the lineup to only make the starting 9 "batting". When the scorecard came out, there were plays appearing at the bottom part without a corresponding player. How is this error corrected into the game aside from scoring from the beginning? Thanks.
Re: Error in making all players 'bat'
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in with a better fix, but I believe the only course now is to re-score the game. One of the keys to being successful using iScore is to make sure you have the correct number of batters before you get to the top of the lineup the second time through.
Incidentally, to make re-scoring easier, print out the play-by-play (from either the Admin site or your team website (if purchased) and the scorecard (from the game e-mail). Using the two documents, you can use this to re-score pretty easily. You won't have all the information, but you can get the main info correct.

Thanks. That's what I exactly did but the play by play seemed to have double entries and I'm pretty sure they did not happen twice in the game so I assume that's the effect of managing the error through a change in the lineup.
Re: Error in making all players 'bat'
Petro guy is spot on, sorry boracay. Messing up the number batting is just problematic for the underlying program...there are ways to fix it after the fact so stats are correct using 'override', (but scorecard will be off and may be as time consuming as re scoring)
Some real time tips for when it happens tp you again (and it will)
If you notice it quickly, ie leadoff batter at plate, and device shows number 10 batter...quickly undo to last pitch of prior batter (mentally remember what happened, because you will reenter). Then go to misc starting line up and mark the end players with bat=no. If you catch the error before leadoff batter bats second time, all good..
Another option if you notice fairly soon, is to use misc skip batter, batter not out, when device shows wrong batter to catch up. Use notes to commemt on what happend and then you only have a few stats to override when you get home

Re: Error in making all players 'bat'
Here is what I would have done and I am pretty sure it works.
When the 10th batter comes up and you notice it is wrong go into starting line up and fix it then. When you back out you will notice that you still have the wrong batter at the plate. Do an UNDO to return to the previous batter and then REDO to undo the undo. LOL
I am pretty sure you will now see the leadoff batter up to bat. This hasn't happened to me in a while and I am no iScore expert so there may be a better way to handle this.

Try REDO.OhioTex wrote:If you noti e it quickly, ie leadoff batter at plate, quickly undo to last pitch of prior batter (mentally remember what happened because you will reenter).

Nice tip don... I always undid before i edited the starting line up. But your order is much better..i have not tested it but if it works, much easier...

Re: Error in making all players 'bat'
Give it a try and let me know. I dont make to many lineup mistakes any more as both of my daughters coaches love the stats so much that they make SURE I have the starting lineup before the game.
Cheers!

Update!
I just did a variety of simulated games and test scenerios.. ( fyi works same on both ipad and iphone versions). unfortuneatly, after a significant number of attempts, i can not validate Dan's redo use tip sequence works correctly when it involves changing the bottom/top of the line up...
When the correction involves changing starting line up and last batter/first batter. Redo works fine for batters in the middle of line up, and up to the last batter (eg batter 9 in this case) but redo does not work when change attempts to reset last/first batter (ie., change an erronious batter 10 actions to become batter 1 actions). just a fundamental systemic limitation of the program.
To some degree Dan's redo tip does look like it works as the icon on scoreing screen changes from batter 10 to batter 1 as dan describes, but the underlying code does not get clean and retains a b10 value (instead of b1) and score card puts funny marks for a phantom tenth batter below the totals.
The only way i found to straighten things out is to use undo/redo to complete the last batter (e.g batter 9). And then re enter from there ( eg re enter the lead off batter on and not use redo)
This is a bit hard to describe in words, hope it makes sense. But i go back to my original solution post. You have to remember and re enter.
P.s. If i can be proven wrong, please by all means correct me....i tried

Re: Error in making all players 'bat'
After some testing myself it looks like as long as you do not REDO, but manually re-enter then the scorecard is OK. I had never looked at the scorecard. I was just looking at the display.
