lineups

Post by drhenson » Tue May 12, 2009 9:22 am

when puting in lineups is there an easy way to put the lineups in because when i start a game it automatically puts the entire roster in the lineup and i have to go through and delete and change it all around.

For the lineup, you do not have to remove any players that are not playing... just make sure they are set to batting=NO. In Team Manager, you should set the default starting players to batting=YES and set their positions. Then when you start a new game, it will default to the usual starting lineup, and it should only require a few small changes at game time (if any). The players marked as batting=NO are available for substitution during the game.

so just set the roster as the usual lineup and it makes it easier? if not just delete them and move the starter up for hitting order purposes

I would suggest never deleting the players unless they are not at the field that day. The roster in Team Manager should be everyone. At game time, then lineup will include everyone that is at the field that day (so will match the roster unless a player did not show up). But the lineup will have Batting=YES for any players that are starting the game and batting, and Batting=NO for any players that are not starting the game. Players with Batting=NO will not show up on the scorecard and will not be credited with a game played unless they are used as a substitute during the game.

If you haven't watched the YouTube videos we have available for training, I would suggest doing that. They are available here:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXJ-r42T0Js" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6UeanYIgmo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

Note that the first video was created with our initial release, so things that have changed a little will be seen in Part 2, but the initial team roster and lineup have not really changed from version to version. The way to do substitutions has, and that is covered in Part 2.
