iScore Acceptance

Our team will be heading up to Cooperstown for a tournament in a couple of weeks. I've been using iScore for our local games all season and haven't kept a paper book for any of our games. I'm wondering if anyone knows if a big tournament such as Cooperstown will have an issue with me using iScore for our games up there or will they require us to also keep a paper book.

I haven't been to Cooperstown, but have scored with iScore at several big Triple Crown and USSSA tournaments and haven't had any trouble. When you explain that not only can you produce a standard scorebook PDF, but also a play-by-play, and oh by the way you have an elapsed time timer (at least in the iPad version), most umpires and tournament directors are accepting. Just make sure you don't run out of battery power. Most tournament directors really only care about score, and innings pitched, anyway.

I just used it for our PONY All-Star Tournament. They just asked me to make sure my WiFi was off.

I only know a little about Cooperstown Allstar Village. From what I have heard, there is a stat and box score sheet you have to fill out at the end of each game. Our team will be up there July 10-16. Maybe you will be there the same week?

One of the developers of iScore will actually be in Cooperstown July 10-16 for his son's team... if you happen to see Santa Clarita Fury playing, stop by and say hi... he will be scoring with either an iPad or iPhone on the Fury side.

So that you cannot recieve messages from outside sources for coaching purposes. YOu can't use any communication devices in the dugout area for coaching purposes (i.e. scouting, etc.)

Well, the scorekeeper shouldn't be in the dugout anyway.
What is to keep coaches from using information from fans (parents of course) that have communications devices in the stands just outside the dugouts?

There isn't suppose to be ANY communication between anyone in the dugout and outside of the dugout.
