Sacrifice RBI

I've always assumed an RBI is a sacrifice. Let me explain. Runner on third and batter hits a ground out or even a fly out and the runner advances, then the at bat is null. Am I correct? If so hiwvdo I account in the stats? I see sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly.

I ask because two players tonight had ground outs that facilitated a run each but iscorebaseball says there was an AB (at bat).

Thanks

Ground outs are not sacrifices. The batter still gets an RBI, but the batter is indeed charged with an at bat. The only time a batter is not charged with an at bat is for a Sacrifice Bunt (which you would choose as the reason for the batter being out), or a Sacrifice Fly (which is also an option). If the batter is out on a Ground Out, or if the run scores on a Fielders Choice, the batter still gets an RBI, but is charged an At Bat as well.
