iScore on new Apple device - Retain Customer ID on iPad?

Post by puum » Fri May 25, 2018 8:15 am

Is there a way to install iScore Baseball/Softball on a new iPad and have it retain the Customer ID from the previous iPad? We are configured with quikstatsiowa.com to auto-import our stats, and they base it off the Customer ID. So if I install on a new iPad with a new Customer ID, that process breaks.

Thanks!

normally you get a new customer id with a new app install. but there is a way using iTunes and its restore function.

if you backup your original iPad and iscore app to iTunes and then restore the iscore app from iTunes to a new device , it will attempt to recover your old customer ID.
not a 100% guarantee but i know it will try.

P.S. i am not familiar with quikstatsiowa.com but would be interested in more detail in how they are using iscore.

Unfortunately I don't think the iTunes restore option is available to me. The iPad that I'm currently using is one provided by the school, and it's old, and is quite restricted. And the one moving to is my own iPad that is newer and setup with my own Apple ID. So I don't think there's a way for me to backup from the one device to restore to mine.

quikstatsiowa.com is a website where all high schools in Iowa are required to upload their stats from various sports throughout the season. With baseball/softball, they provide a method where you can click a link to import data from iScore directly into QuikStats. It's quite useful. They base it on your Customer ID and then you just import the correct game and it sucks the data in.

sounds like you will need to contact quikstatsiowa.com for a way to update / change the customer ID associated with your team. b/c when you get new IPAD and download new App, you will get a new customer ID.

before you "retire" the Old iPad, make sure you write down and save somewhere the current customer Id and password

you may want to consider registering both the Old and new iPad to a common email using the isocrecentral.com admin web site.
once both registered to same email account, before you use iscore on new device, you can copy all your old iPad data to new iPad account ID in a few clicks and import to new iPad.

if quikstatsiowa.com has trouble reassigning customer ID, post back. I may have some ideas how to help
