If the players have not already been mapped, you are given the option to map them to any player you want. Once a mapping has been made (internal IDs are maintained for each player, and a mapping is saying that two internal IDs are the same player), then you are not able to map the player again as the mapping has already been done. Names/jersey numbers do not matter as you can change them at any time. It is the internal IDs that matter.

I am trying to import two games. My device is automatically linking my team with last year's team. I can not uncheck it to map it to the new team. Is that an option?

Once two teams are mapped, there is no way to unmap them. Otherwise you could wind up mapping the same team to multiple teams on your device.

I have looked and may have missed this...if so I apologize....

I have missed several games due to work. Another parent uses iscore. I will be importing those games through data sharing. I labled my team XX2014, if he labeled his different than that is there steps I need to take to merge the teams to maintain stats?

Thx.

It does not matter if names exactly the same.
You "will connect" them when you map them over in data share

The other person must first option export

Then on your device
Option > Data Share > get from Web database

I am an idiot! I took a hiatus last year from working with a team. Another parent took over using iScore on his device for the season. Now that new summer season has started up again this year, and I have returned, the coach wanted me to compile all of the data together so that we had hit charts and stats that included last year's information.

Well, as I was importing from the other parent's administrative website, my iPad found matches for lots of the players. I skimmed our list of players and it seemed to be fine, but I didn't notice that two of the players were incorrectly mapped.

Several imported games later, I noticed that some of the players on the opposing teams had incorrect suggestions for mapping, and that was when I noticed the two players on our team that were incorrectly mapped.

I have deleted all of the games I had imported. How do I move on from here to import the data from last year without losing the games we've already played this year as well as the seasons previous to last year that I still have?

I have not exported my data since trying this data merge. (Stupidly, I did not export before starting this process, but there are only two games that I hadn't exported yet, and they are in the Scorecast so I can re-enter them, pitch by pitch without losing too much time.) Can I do an "import" to restore my iPad data to a "pre-mapped" state and start the data merge again (paying VERY close attention to the mapping!)?

Do I export all of my data, delete my teams and players that I had already mapped, then import last season's games with the "new" option for all of the mapping, then import the old data and merge the teams/players?

Do I uninstall iScore, reinstall it and import my "pre-mapped" data from my administrative website?

Before I try any of these desperate measures, I want to know which, if any, will (or at least might) work.

HELP!

If you know the Admin Website is missing only the two games you have scored, and it is the data "prior to mapping", here are the steps we would suggest:

1. Do an Options -> Import on your device (this will import the data from your admin website to your device, overwriting the two games you already scored)

2. Use Data Sharing to retrieve the games from the other scorekeeper being careful to map the players properly

3. Go to Data Sharing again, and enter "sc:XXXXX" for the customer ID replacing XXXXX with your acutal customer ID and including the "sc:" in front of it without the quotes, and enter the password as seen on the Options -> Admin Website screen on your device

4. You will then be able to import the two games you have already scored from the iScorecasts as well

You should now have all your data back, and the mappings should now be correct.

ipadA and ipadB were both used to record games. Neither ipad contained the entire season. ipadA belongs to scorekeeper. ipadB belongs to coach. ipadB exported all games it had. ipadA imported those games successfully. ipadA now contains the entire season and did an export. Now coach wants ipadB to contain the exact same stats as ipadA. Coach goes to OPTIONS>DATA SHARING>GET FROM WEB DATABASE and enters ipadA's login info. Some games imported properly. Other games say 'TRANSFER FAILED: You can not import data where one of the teams has been deleted!'. What is wrong? Is there a way around this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Use the following steps to undelete teams on both devices, then try the transfer again:
