Short hoppers scored as hard ground balls? I think if you put out it will give the defender an unassisted putout as opposed to fielding a hard short hop and getting an assist on the throw to first.

the program handles routine ground outs just fine, For example 6-3 Ground out, credit the Assist to Short and Put out to first

Assuming no one on base, and have enabled 'record hit location' in game settings , you would tap the following sequence in iScore..
  • Out > Ground Out > Location of Ball, type of hit: hard, grounder, next > SS - 1B > Done
all the stats will all collect nicely behind the scenes.

If you are experiencing something different, please reply back and explain more....

Everything works fine on the grounders like that. I actually swipe up on out for quick and hit 6-3 and then where the ball was hit. For those watching on the app or iscorecast i was just curious if there was more of a feel of how the ball was hit to be more descriptive as in short hopper hit to ss batter is out on the throw to 1st.

the program has a limited number of choices as you can image based on the buttons you choose.. , ground out, line drive out, pop out, or Fly out. .. but you can add as much color commentary as you like with NOTES.

on notes, I recommend, using the NEXT PLAY option, if you have fans "watching " as the NOTE text stands alone and does not get 'lost' among the clutter of standard generated text.

Yes, for those watching a scorecast, they will see a descriptive message of the play.....BUT....only for a ball-in-play that results in an OUT. If it doesn't result in an out, they'll only see "Joe Schmo hits a double". There is a currently an enhancement request to provide more description on all plays in the Play-by-Play. But as OhioTex points out, you can use Notes too. I've recently started using Notes as well, and my fans are enjoying my commentary (by the way, thanks OhioTex for pointing that feature out to me - especially using NEXT for notes), though I will caution that if the teams move quickly between batters it can be easy to get behind!

that is a great suggestion. i never thought of using the notes. i wasn't sure if that was just something for record keeping or if the watchers actually got to read the notes. Awesome. I will start to do that until the play by play is updated. :)

Not familiar with NEXT PLAY option. Is it available on Android? I still use Android phone. Adding notes was always cumbersome and easy to fall behind. Not sure how much more I will use Iscore now. Youngest daughter completed her 4 year college career with her team playing at the NAIA College World Series. (I include that for Ohio Tex because he has previously asked how she was doing.). I am at some point going to try to combine her high school and college games to one place as I scored them on two different phones. And the first phone doesn't work very well anymore and the second phone is on it's last legs too. That issue is probably for a different thread. Had fun using Iscore since 2011.

Just confirmed on my Android tablet. Select the "Notes" button, and directly above where you are writing your Notes there are 2 buttons, Previous & Next. It also performs like iOS, in that if you select Next for your Note, the next Note you do will automatically be Next.

Agreed. I follow OhioTex's advice, and keep my notes short and simple: "Great play <PlayerName>!" or "Almost got it!", or "Boooo umpire....bad call!!! :)"
