I guess we were both there on the Ballparks inaugural opening day. Wow! That's crazy. Yeah the Jake is a good. I can't believe we are going to replace the Ballpark. Less than 25 years old, and still in fantastic shape. I don't like it. But too many people want that A/C, and when Arlington got wind of Dallas making a play to get the Rangers, they immediately put a new stadium referendum on there ballot, and Voila! If they can do the retractable roof better than Minute Maid, and as well as Safeco, I guess I'll be alright.

BTW, once again I spoke too soon. I didn't think there was a true sync between devices, but, of course, there is. I'm going to keep quiet and read more. Some of the data may be hard to find, but it's there.

@ willdresslar - I ran across an old thread for another user and thought of you... see thoughts/comments below

a) how is iScore working out for you?

b) I noticed you saw FTM support commented on the landscape views topic. for you, i hope that makes a future update
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11975.

c) (original purpose of this post).. one of the multiple extra topics you raised in this thread was around local storage options ...
  • I recently ran across a few year old thread on SC Card support being added for Android iscore and thought of your "local storage" comments. I am not sure if this was already known to you, or fits your need. but thought i would pass along the thread. Not being an android user, not sure what that enables you to do or how to leverage, but i assume it gets you some local backup option. anyway i thought i would pass along this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4413&p=22832&hilit=SD+CARD#p22832.
btw iOS does not use SD Cards which i find "lame" , wish they did. and why i totally forgot iScore added SD card support back in the day.
d) In re reading your posts, you mention detailed scorecard being a big deal for you. i wanted to point out a few things about PDF scorecards and Android.
  • 1. i assume you have figured out that on Android it apparently takes a PDF reader, (which i understand is no big deal), but on the tablet this means you do not get the "pop out" view of PDF card while on main scoring screen like you do on an iPad. You can still access the PDF while scoring a game, at any time in separate window by using the PDF icon at bottom of screen.
  • 2. from reading the link on SD Cards, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4413&p=22832&hilit=SD+CARD#p22832. (at the time of posts, and I assume still valid) there are some interesting 'quarks' in how Android manages memory, i) for import backups and ii) viewing PDF scorecards .. may impact memory on your device and you may want to read that thread
  • 3. there are a couple known 'flaws' in scorecard when it comes to double and triple plays. if you score a double or triple play there are some scenarios where the red out sequence on scorecard will be out of order, and a potential incorrect RBI blue dot, see link for more info viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11808
  • 4. on iOS devices, not yet on android PDF scorecards, Unearned runs have a 'starburst white in side the filled in blue diamond for easier identification' hopefully that will make it to android PDF in a future update
E) P.S. Texas Rangers : What is up with ballpark in arlington outfield still having discolored grass 'rings'.. I had forgotten about it till got to watch some of this last home stand on MLB.TV.. , i remember it from beginning of season, and recall some "charity benefit" OOOPs.. but still there? . what is the local story on that.

Loving it! Working quite well.
b) I noticed you saw FTM support commented on the landscape views topic. for you, i hope that makes a future update
Me too. Not sure why it was intended to not have the landscape option, but hopefully landscape option for everything will be incorporated.

Thanks. I read through the post. If I am not mistaken, they just added the ability to move the app itself to the SD card. I was more interested in the ability to backup the app database on the sdcard, or internal memory for that matter, just as it does when you export to the iscore sever. I try to buy phones with removable SD cards so I can upgrade the storage without buying a whole new phone. Apple wants you to buy the new phone. I am not a big fan of the Apple/Microsoft model. They have a great product. It is also an expensive product. Why not give the consumer some options and flexability, instead of milking them for every nickel and controlling their devices? But, what they do works. The market shows that people don't care about those things like I do. I have a house full of Apple users.

Wow! 1.There is a popout pdf view of the scorecard on the main scoring screen in iOS? That is pretty cool. That would be really handy. I use the viewer but, as you know, have to leave the scoring screen. I'd like to see that. Could you post a screenshot? 2. I also noticed the interesting memory usage after reading the post. Not as big a deal as it was back at the time of the original post, as internal memory has grown on most devices. But it's an easy fix as support detailed. 3. I see the same behavior. on the sequencing of outs in DP situation with more than R1, but I am not getting the blue dot RBI in the quick out DP situation. Thanks for pointing this out. 4. Yes , I was in on that discussion. I hope for that fix as well.

It is so funny that you mention that. I have been bothered by our field's aesthetic look for a while, and I was just talking about that during the game Tuesday. The field is in fine condition functionally. But why is it that all the other big league parks have all the cool patterns and landmarks cut into their grass, and ours looks like it does? Perhaps the grass type that we have to use for our summer climate doesn't lend itself to pattern creeation, but I'm not buying that.

Hook 'em!

i have been an Apple guy since the "apple 2" because it was better than my TRS80. .. used big blue in college and business .. now can switch hit. PC/Mac.

If you have apple folks around the house.. any chance you have an iPad around?. . iscore looks very nice on iPad.

I can not seem to figure out how to effectively post images on this forum but here is a google doc with some pics of iscore scorecard pop out on iPad on main scoring screen in portrait and landscape, light and dark skin mode

Pictures >> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qZR ... sp=sharing

funny on the Rangers outfield grass.

Wanted to insert my "2 cents" on scoring on an iPad vs Android - move to an Apple device if you can! I started with an Android device, and have since moved over to an iPad Mini to do my iScore scoring. It definitely adds more to the experience.
