email alerts when new forum topics are posted?

Is there a way to get emails when new posts are made to the forums (It is straight forward to get email notification of responses)? I tried the "Subscribe forum" link (which I assumed was a means to get emails), but it doesn't seem to do anything. When I view subscriptions in the User Control Panel, nothing is listed there and it only states how to remove subscriptions, not add them.
Thanks,
ben

I am not sure how to do that. It may be possible... this is a standard "phpBB" forum which has a lot of functionality.
We will very soon be adding Twitter feeds when important new topics or information comes up. We have the account created, but have not started "tweeting" yet. You can find us at:
http://twitter.com/ftmsupport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false
Feel free to subscribe now, and when we start sending messages, you will be the first to know.

I just tried several times to subscribe to a forum with no success, but I can suscribe to a forum topic with no problem. Must be a setting somewhere to allow users to subscribe to forums.

We have the setting "Allow subscribing to forums" set to yes. I am just not sure how it is done. Hopefully someone reading this knows where that setting is as it must exist somewhere.

When you view a forum, there is a link at the top that states "Subscribe forum". Clicking on it just provides a page with a box that says "Information," but doesn't actually have information. I am able to subscribe to topics fine...
