Switching teams (answered and resolved)

Post by sdepace » Sat Mar 11, 2017 9:23 am

My son recently got the news that he's moving down to the b team, temporarily!!!!, and was wondering what the best way to handle the team website that I run. Should I give over control to another father on the A team, or switch the website to my sons new team and have the other father start a new website importing the data from the previous seasons. If I switch the team, how can I still keep the previous seasons with my sons stats?

Thanks for your help

The core of iscore is the scorer and the handheld device with the iscore baseball app.

Many users score multi teams on their device. You can definitely manage data with your son on both A and B teams.

I would create a new team (team b) on your device. And option export.

You can then change the team associated with your paid team website subscription (eg from team a to team b) by going to my.iscorecentral.com account page and changeing website teams.

Here is a FAQ on changeing team web site team

You can share games with another person using iscore with data sharing. Here is FAQ on data sharing

OK thanks. My only concern is that his stats won't stay with him as the new website will be for a new team, which I guess is probably correct. Its almost as if I want a player website instead of a team website. If I change to a new team and I hit on his player name in the stats page, will his stats from his previous seasons be accessible?

Thanks

All the data you score is stored on your handheld device and accesible however you want - by team, player or game manager. (View on device screen or email).

Team Manager is designed to show stats for a team, for games played by that team with players on that team's roster in the game line up. but you can have as many teams on your device as you need.

Player Manager will shows stats for a player across multiple teams, leagues and games .
  • On your device, under player manager, you can see a players cumulative stats across teams and years in total and by game.
You can also set up and use leagues (under league manager) to group games and fliter associated stats any group you define (eg by High School, Travel, season, tourney, etc)
If your desire is to also have both teams or player data on the web,
  • you can purchase team websites for each team.

AND yes, there is a separate "player spotlight" web site option you can purchase for a specific player from my.iscorecetral.com. The player web site (aka player spotlight) is similar to team site but not exactly the same (few less stats/features). It provides web access similar to reviewing data on your device for a player under player manager.
Please post back if you need more clarity or have more questions .

OK thanks for your help. My next question is this. I ended up having a friend install the app and registered it to the same account so that I could copy all of the data to his and he could then score my sons old team. Now that that is done, do I need to register his device to a new address? If I don't, every time I do an export on my device or he does on his, will the data get mixed up? If he also wants to add a device, wouldn't it be easier to have the devices for each team separated or is ok to have all of the devices registered to the same account?

Secondly, two players are showing up on the website roster which are incorrect. His phone has them as inactive but it still shows up. Any ideas?

Thanks

TEAM WEBSITEs are controlled by only 1 device. (Two devices can not both feed a team web site).

Team Web site are updated when you "OPTION > EXPORT" from the controlling device.

You can identfy what Device and Team is controlling a team web site, by looking under Team Manager > Selecting Team > Team Web Site
If it says Active (with renew button) then this is the Team and device controlling the Team Web Site
If it Says Check for Availability, that team is not associated with a Team Web Site

If Team Web Site Roster does not look like you expect,..
Review the Team Roster from the controlling device, and update / correct roster Name, Number, Active/inactive etc then Option Export to update the team web site

I would suggest you each register your device to your own email and password.

To Un register a device,
  • Log on to my.iscorecentral.com with device ID and Password, then go to account tab, click on the device ID number (red letter) to reveal pop up menu with option to Unregister device. follow prompts.
Here is the FAQ for Registering a device Each device is "independent" .
  • games scored on a device are on that device (only), games can be shared post scoring by "Option> Data Share"
But "option > Export" updates each respective devices admin site.
Data is not Co shared or cross connected
