If you dont know what the roster is at the start of the game can you do your line up as they come up to bat?

The easiest way to handle this is to create a Quick Roster which will create players named "Player 1", "Player 2", etc. Then as they come up to bat, edit their jersey number and name to match who is at bat. Just be sure to notice when the first batter is in the on deck circle so you can set extra batters to Batting = NO.

the answer is most definitely yes, that is the way many youth games are done in practice .

the big caveat is what Support mentioned, you want to be sure and get correct number of batters batting, so the line up rolls over correctly from the last batter to the 1 hole batter. If you get that part right, you can refine the line up with real names as you go or even post game.
