We do not have a suggestion on it. We expose what Apple has exposed to us for the settings.

@CoachC .... interesting .. me too... hmm...

@ other forum members .. Can you understand the female voice? (this is on the Central Viewer App, part of the Premium Subscription Features)

@ Support.. ... Can you understand the Female voice ? - if so at what Pitch/rate setting and on what device? . . because I just tested and i can not. . Male voice OK but not female. ....

I tested multiple rate/pitch combinations for female and male voice on multiple iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) with strong wifi internet connection . Male voice legible. first part of Female voice test string is unrecognizable. making that option useless.

FYI - I found MALE voice setting preference of 90 rate and 75 pitch , Test phrase "Number 11 Ryan law hits a hard ground ball for a single" is understandable. bit odd accent but understandable.

however, when i flip to female voice, First half of test phrase is unrecognizable, "Number 11 Ryan law" ( almost like a second language eg "numero" not "number" and "11 Ryan Law" is all jumbled) yet the second half of test string "hits a hard ground ball for a single" is understandable but with odd pronunciation.

I assume by your post, Apple provides the voice? Is there a chance developers can select a different accent/dialect ? ( I know this is not the siri voice I know from other devices)

or perhaps the first half of the test string for female is just written different. obviously iscore wrote the test string as it is Baseball centric.

thanks in advance for your investigation and follow up response. .. I am curious now too

We are reproducing the issue and will work on a fix. Not sure what is causing the problem with the female voice.

Glad I came here and started poking around! I didn't realize that there were rate and pitch settings that could be adjusted. I'd given up on the female voice (which seemed to be speaking a cross between German and Japanese) and settled on the male voice, which seemed to be a drunk British guy speaking very slowly and distinctly because he knows he's drunk but doesn't want to miss any words. Now that I've tweaked the settings (Rate 86, Pitch 59), he sounds pretty normal.

I am glad it helped you. I am also glad someone else called out the voice concerns. I thought it was only me...

I have my male voice set at 75 /70 now ..
Female is still garbage as you said ...

For those reading along, if you have the central viewer app and the premium subscription, i really encourage you to try the audio broadcast next time you need to follow a game.. Once set to decent pitch rate . It is really neat. You can drive and follow your kids game .. Safely .

They even play back scorer notes they type.

Opening weekend...Was demonstrating the audio capability of iScore Central w premium subscription... and found The female voice option is still unrecognizeable ..

I dug up this former thread where the issue was discussed and re produced but does not seem ever fixed (from memory it was an Apple issue)

do we have an update on the resolution on developers end?
