One Way Scorekeeping

Post by villebilly » Wed Mar 17, 2010 11:29 am

Is there any way I can NOT enter the other teams lineup? Many games I don't care about them just want to keep our stats but it seems like it won't let me if I don't have their players listed in Player Manager. I would prefer to just show Batter #1 or enter their jersey number during the game. Thanks.

You can use a Quick Roster to quickly create Batters 1-N for the other team. if you truly don't care at all, you can just create a single batter for the other team, and not enter their batting information at all. Just use "Misc->End Inning" any time their team comes to bat.

iScore does require at least one player is entered for each team to score the game.

Here is how I handle it.

Create a new team called "Opponent" and create a Quick Roster of 9 players. This approach allows you to:
Quickly create a game
See a valid scorecard (page out of a scoring book) for the game
Requires minimal effort.

Also, quick roster players will not show up under player manager. :)

Another advantage of Don's approach is that if you always use the same "Opponent" team for any team for any team you play against, and you actually do track the game (not caring about individual players on the opponent's team), you will still be able to see a general "opponent stats" statistics. You would know the batting average of opponents at a particular lineup position, team batting against you guys, etc.

Oh I like this idea - I was ending up with all sorts of teams that we only play once in the season.
