Public access to iScorecasts, game info, stats
Public access to iScorecasts, game info, stats
We use the iScorecast for parents to follow games and for coaches only to view stats. We'd like to make sure no game info is viewable by the public. We just learned about iScore Central, and saw our past games available to the public, so we locked all previous iScorecasts on the Admin Website. Is there any other way someone can obtain access to game information that we're missing? (We use my device for scoring and iScorecasts, then coaches use Data Sharing to load to their devices). Thanks.

iScorecasts are the only way the public would see your games and as you noted you can password protect them (or remove the iScorecast if you do not want it to be seen at all any more).

Re: Public access to iScorecasts, game info, stats
We just had a game suspended in the 3rd inning due to rain. I clicked on Delayed in the app, then exited and exported. I went to iScore and protected the scorecast (will unprotect before the game resumes in the future). However, the game still shows on iScore Central, up to the point of delay. It's been hours, so it's not a timing issue. Any suggestions on how to remove it from iScore Central?

If you want it actually removed, you can go to Game Manager, select your game, and select the "Delete iScorecast" option. When you want it back on there, you can go to Game Manager, select the game, and select the "iScorecast Synchronize" option. Can you help us understand why you would want it removed however?

Actually meant to say Protect it, not remove it. I'd like to keep it private until the game resumes, then unprotect before it restarts so parents can follow. That's why I'm confused, I went into myIscore and password protected the game, but it still shows up on iScoreCentral. On my computer, when I click on the link that I created for parents for that game, it requires a password. But when I go into iScoreCentral app, and search for our team, the game still shows up and you can see all play by play.

Re: Public access to iScorecasts, game info, stats
We have now updated the system so that password protected games are actually filtered out of the iScore Central app for now. The Central app does not support the current method of password protecting games, so any password protected game will have to be viewed with the standard web-based iScorecast viewer.
If you want the game to be viewable while live via iScore Central, just don't set a password. As soon as a password is set, it will no longer be viewable in Central.
In a future update, we will be adding more access control options to games via Central as the Central app actually supports user level logins which gives us more options.
