K/GI BB/GI H/GI

Post by tenn63 » Mon Apr 18, 2022 4:03 am

ipad version 5.185

i am confused by these stats perhaps i am not understanding the meaning.

here are stats from iscore team stats page
pitcher has 27 innings pitched..24 strikeouts..11 walks..and 27 hits allowed.. K/GI = 6.22 BB/GI= 2.85 H/GI= 7.00 (calculated on team stats page)

if K/GI means (strikeouts per inning) then K/GI should = .888 or strikeouts/innings pitched
BB/GI should = .407
H/GI should = 1.000
what am i missing here or am i misinterpreting the meaning of the stat?
thank you

Hi, I think GI = Game Innings. So it might equate to the number of innings for the total game and not just how many innings the pitcher pitched.

Afjb is correct. the standard metric is K/9 or strikeouts per 9 innings. The K/GI compensates for this to a degree by using the number of scheduled innings per game.
