New Little League Rule - "Strike but no pitch" (implemented in iOS)

Post by natonoll » Tue Feb 21, 2017 6:42 am

In an effort to speed the game up, Little League has a rule that if a batter steps out of the batters box twice during an at bat without being pushed out of the box a strike is awarded but no pitch counts towards the pitcher.
How can I record this is iScore without editing the pitchers totals at the end?

Thanks,
NN

Use Misc -> Adjust Score and set the number of strikes on the batter.

@support.. Please correct me if i am wrong, I will be more than happy. but I do not see how in current version 5.006 to use Misc > adjust score to adjust batters count. Misc > Adjust Score can adjust team scores, inning, half inning, number of outs, and who is batting. but i do not think it allows adjusting the batters ball and strike count. But that would certainly be a nice feature addition.

@natonol - Unless support corrects me...

* the only way to currently add a strike to a batter without adding a pitch count to the pitcher is to use substitutions, sub out the pitcher (get a ? for pitcher or insert a 'dummy' pitcher), give the strike to the batter, then sub back in the correct pitcher.

* adding a ball to the batter count but not to the pitchers pitch count is easy, by misc > illegal pitch) .

* but i can not find a similar misc menu item to add a strike to batter without adding to pitcher count. UNLESS you sub the pitcher out for that one pitch..

* there is a game setting " Coach Pitch on Walk", that when enabled, when 4 balls are reached on a batter, the pitcher is subbed out by the program, to a Coach, who then collects balls and strikes till batter's at bats over, .but that does not help you but it does show how subbing pitcher in and out can work.

hopefully Support will correct me and/or add a misc > add strike to batter feature in future update.

OhioTex is correct - sorry for the misleading info. Subbing in a fake pitcher for that strike is the only option to enter a strike without it counting toward the pitcher currently.

We will be adding a new "No Pitch Strike" option under Misc in an update to account for this new rule.

I really wished i was wrong.

Misc > "No Pitch Strike" sounds like a perfectly clear and simple solve for Little league.. great

but I also like the idea of expanding "Misc > Adjust score" to include pitch count in a future version. (secondary priority, to misc > no pitch Strike)

@ natonoll - just an FYI - i just downloaded v 5.007. and so you know this has not been added yet. , the idea probably came in after the developers had submitted 5.007 to apple. so look for this in a subsequent update..
