I just took over keeping stats and, although I have a pretty good handle on it, I still have some questions now and again. The person previously doing this is no longer around for me to ask questions of, either. I would like to know how to score the following situation for the batter...
Based loaded
One out
Batter hits to just behind third base barely over the third baseman's head, batter safely make it to first base.
Ball is quickly recovered by the third baseman and the runner advancing from second to third is now out (fielder's choice).
However, the runner on third successfully scores at home; batter is credited with an RBI.
How should this be scored for the batter? As a 1B hit/RBI? Or as a SAC/RBI? If I understand correctly (and it's possible that I don't) it wouldn't be a Fielder's Choice because the run scored. Correct? Does the batter get credit for reaching first base since the Fielder's Choice was negated by the run?
Thanks much for the help and clarification!!!

Re: SAC / FC / RBI / At Bat Question for Batter
It is a Fielder's Choice. Just select Safe, Fielder's Choice, for runner scoring, select Advanced by Batter, for the out at third, it is Force Out.
The runner will be credited with an RBI, but does not get a base hit in that case.
It is also not a sacrifice because the ball was not bunted and it was not a fly out.

So when I'm doing on it paper, not in the computer yet, I'd circle the FC or the 1B?

You would circle FC. It is a Fielder's Choice, not a single. Any time a runner is forced out on a play, it is automatically a Fielder's Choice.
