Order of Games on Website

Post by techwebbs » Thu May 02, 2013 5:02 am

Some of our fans get quite confused by the fact that on our website games that have yet to be played are listed last. Some are grandparents who want to follow the iScoreCast but aren't very tech savvy. Is there a way to bring those games to the top of the list on the games tab so they can find the iScoreCast more easily?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Best advice is to not create those games ahead of time. It is recommended for many reasons, this is one of them, to create the games just before you play them.

You can also email a direct link to each game and they can access the games that way.

Mark, I am a convert from another product this season and one of the first things I am looking for is how to invite our team's parents and fans to "watch" the game on iScoretv.com or some other location made available through iScore. The other app could be set up to alert all fans that had "signed up" and would send them a link. So far, I have only seen references to telling fans to go to iscoretv.com and searching for our team or "games close to me". I would prefer to either manually send them an email with a link to click on to watch our game and not have to search for it, or trigger an alert to go out to fans of the team if that is possible. Can you elaborate on your above comment about sending out a link or invite? Also, the other app has you watch the game using the app. I am guessing that there is no particular app for fans to watch an iScore game and instead, they watch it through a browser? Thanks

iScore does not currently have a concept of people becoming "fans" of a team. We have iScorecasts that are available for fans to watch, and there are serveral ways fans can find those games:

1. You can go to http://iscoretv.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and see a listing of all games that are currently live (or were just live or about to be live)

2. You can email all your followers your customer ID, and they can go to http://iscorecast.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and enter your customer ID to see all your games. (or you can email the link as http://iscorecast.com/?c=XXXX" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; replacing the XXXX with the customer ID of your iScore device, and they can click the link to view the games you have scored (or are scoring).

3. If you enable Twittercast, a tweet is automatically sent out any time you begin scoring (so any of your twitter followers would be notified)

4. From the scoring screen, there is an "email link to game" option that allows you to email the link to the iScorecast for the game you are scoring to anyone you like. See the Email Link option in the iScore documentation at http://iscoreleagues.com/manual/#h.ihcxor92e76k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

5. If you have an optional team website, the iScorecasts can also be linked to from there

6. We just released a new "custom scoreboards" that allows you to embed a custom scoreboard of just your games (or any group of games) on any website. Or you can just send out a link directly to a custom scoreboard. See the following listing in our forum for information about custom scoreboards:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8064" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For viewing the games, you are correct that we do not make users download the iScore application to watch the games. Viewing is available online through a website.

Welcome to the board!

There is an option to email game link (this can be found in Game Info as well as the iscorecast icon on the scoring screen). Just before the game, I will email myself this link and then forward it to a distribution list that includes friends and family members of our team.

Yes, it is viewed in a browser. When you send the link there are two options. One of which is a simplified viewer that is better suited for viewing on smaller screens. The other is the full blown version which offers a better/more detailed experience.
