Feature request: Add batch player

Post by Weas » Thu Sep 01, 2011 12:01 pm

Would it be possible to enter:

# FIRST LAST
## FIRST LAST

And get the numbers with the players on the initial "import", rather than just the first and last name and have to go back and enter all the numbers?

You can now enter just first + last names when doing batch adds on the team websites, or you can precede the first + last names with a number.

I know this is an old thread, but related, are we able to import positions into the batch import? It does say first/last/jersey#, but positions would be nice as well...

Yes you can, as well as batting y/n and batting/throwing handedness.

From the Admin website:
Put as many rows of players as you want in the following format:

FirstName LastName Jersey# Position Batting Bats Throws

Only FirstName and LastName are required.
The others are in the order most people have data for.
Position can either be the position # (1 = Pitcher, 2= Catcher, etc) or abbreviation for the position (1B = First Base, LF = Left Field, etc).
Batting can be: Y = Yes, N = No, D = DP, F = Flex.
Bats and Throws can be: R = Right, L = Left, B = Both

For example:

Joe Smith 5 2b y r r
John Doe 8 rf n l r

This would add:

#5 Joe Smith as a second baseman in the batting lineup who bats right handed and throws right handed, and #8 John Doe as a right fielder not in the batting lineup who bats left handed and throws right handed.

Mark - i think the request is on the Football side of the Admin web site. (Mark is correct for Baseball you can batch add mutiple players information from the admin web site..., but in football (as of this morning) it seems like you can only add "FirstName LastName Jersey#" (see below quote box for text from Admin web site)

** I suspect FTMSupport will see this thread and add this idea to its list for future enhancement considerations for FOOTBALL admin web site

From Football Admin Web Site (as of this morning) (Football > Roster > Edit > Add Multiple>...
Put as many rows of "FirstName LastName Jersey#" as you want, then click "Add Batch".

Only FirstName and LastName are required.
For example:

John Doe
Jane Smith 33

would add John Doe and #33 Jane Smith to the roste
