Fumble recovery TD recorded as Kick Off return TD

We had a play where we forced a fumble on a kick off. We recovered the ball and ran it in for a TD. The player that recovered the fumble and ran it in was given a Kick Off Return TD with no kick off received. Is this correct? It should be a fumble recovery returned for a TD, correct?
At this point, I just want awareness about this so it can be corrected if need be.
