Scoring for Bad Snaps on Punts

Post by fletch52 » Fri Sep 16, 2016 3:13 am

I scored a game last night that included a special teams play that I believe was handled incorrectly. The play included a bad snap over the punter's head, resulting in the punter going to the ball and covering it. The net loss on the play was treated as a rushing attempt by the punter for -22 yards. The NFL Statisticans Guide indicates the play should be scored as a rush attempt for zero yards. Can this be fixed or scored differently??

The NFL statistician rules state that the center should be charged with negative fumble yards in that case and the punter gets a rush for 0 yards.

iScore does two different things depending on whether you have NFL or NCAA set for stats rules under options.

If you set the NFL rules, iScore is currently giving the Center -22 yards, but is not crediting a 0 yard rush to the Punter.

If you set NCAA rules, the negative yards are assigned to the TEAM.

We will add this issue to our bug list to fix it so the Punter is given a 0 yard rushing attempt as well under NFL rules.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
