PLAY does not take user to start game; remains in ROSTER

Post by blzr511 » Thu Sep 26, 2013 10:43 pm

Hello,

Very intuitive and useful app! I was able to create Teams and add Players to roster, however, when selecting DONE in the upper left of roster (even when in edit mode to change line-up). I never get to the screen to PLAY the game, just keeps looping me back into the Roster. There are enough players, there are 9 selected to bat. The only "fix" for this is to repeatedly press the previous screen button on the Android device, until prompted "Are you sure you want to exit the scoring screen"...then selecting NO, this brings me to PLAY the game.

So, I cannot ever leave the roster is the issue.

Please advise, thank you!

This means you do not have at least one player set to Batting = YES on each team. You must have at least one player set to Batting = YES for both the Home + Visitor teams on the Lineups in order for iScore to allow you to proceed to scoring the game.

Welcome to the form

........

Per support's post, both teams must have at least one player set equal to bat.. (it sounded like you had 9 set to bat for one team for sure but was not clear if you toggled between BOTH home and away teams had # players set to batting on both teams...

. . If you are confident both teams have players set to batting and still have issues.... Here is my next thought,,

........

Iscore successfully runs on android devices but occasionally they run Into quirks with different phone/tablet versions. ..please provide the phone/tablet and android and iscore version information.

It is also perhaps a buggy install (rare but does happen)

If this is a new install on an established phone/tablet with latest iscore and android. .. Then you could just have a buggy install, if you don't have any "real" data to save.. I would try a full re install. (If you have data, will need to do and option export, and later option import .but be sure to write down the customer ID and password found at HOME>OPTIONS > ADMIN.... before uninstalling)

........

The normal sequence for android is

1) Teams... First set up teams in team manager, which sounds like you have,

2) new game.... second set up a new game ....with two teams..

Home> game manager > add > (new game set up) > save
(at the new game screen, Complete the new game information. Adding teams, time, and setting options then save to exit

You are taken back to game manager screen and list of games.

3) set starting line ups .
Home> game manager > select game > (game info screen > PLAY > line ups> DONE

at line up screen, chomp ogle between home and visitor line up. And make sure both teams have the right line up and at least one player on each team set to batting.,, when complete,, hit DONE at top to be taken to the game scoring screen,..

4) play ball and score..,,,
.......

In sum,

Check that you have players batting on both line ups

Check you are following this flow,.. (If not, give it another try..)

let us know what device/version you are using and

If you need, try a re install

.... Please post back any follow up questions

Hello again,

Yeahhh...of course I had BOTH rosters filled AND set to Bat...what's the point of a 'game' if only one side is set to bat, but I appreciate pointing out the obvious! I am quite the technically adept person myself, so I don't associate this issue with "user error".

Device:

Droid Razr
Android version 4.0.4

System Version
6.16.211.XT912

Build Number
6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31

Did an EXPORT, uninstall, then imported data...same issue. So I just uninstalled the app, re-installed and created new data (yes, both teams, all batting, all positions, all numbers correct) SAME issue!

If you export and email your customer ID to support@iscoresports.com and let us know which game it is, we can try and reproduce on a device here.

Ok, sent an email to support with the required information; no reply as of yet. Any idea on their turn-around time?
