Simple Question - Advanced by batter or held up?

Post by econdreras » Mon May 06, 2013 10:57 am

This is not in the training videos posted online. Lets say a batter hits a single. The app asks what happened to the batter. Safe at first is set by default, but then you have to hit either held up or advanced by batter in order to continue. Both seem to achieve the same result, but which is the correct one to chose? Thanks.

Either works, as you noted, but I think most people use held up once it gets back to the batter. It does not affect the statistics if you prefer advanced by batter.

Thank you. Another quick one. What is the proper way to score a single and an error that puts the runner on 2B? What I have been doing is selecting In Play ->Single->Held up. Once that process is done, I tap the runner at first, select Safe->Error and put him on second. The problem I have with this is that it look like everything happened in two seperate instances. Is this the correct way, or is there a way to immediately put him on 2nd from a single and score the error at the same time?

In play->Single->What happened to runner?->Safe->Second->Error->(assign error).

What you are doing is fine, but the above sequence will keep it on a single event.

Also, just seconding Team Mom on your previous question, makes no difference if you use Held Up or Advanced by Batter.

The correct way would be

In play - single - mark ball location. What happened to batter? press second, safe, error, then tap the fielder who made the error. The scorecard will show 1B to first then E# to second.

Be sure you are not minimizing questions (advanced scoring mode.)
(In order to be asked about it all on a single play, you should set "Minimize Questions" to NO in the game settings as described in the documentation here:
