Error on Double-Play

Bases loaded, 1 out.

Ground ball to 2B who throws to SS for 4-6 force at 2nd.

SS has plenty of time for double-play to first but sails ball over 1B head.

Let me know if this is right...

I'm pretty sure this is scored as Fielder's Choice. If so, when asked what happened to runner on 3B, I say "advanced by batter" to Home.

I'm not marking as an error because you can't assume a double-play, ya?

So, the runner from 3B is an earned run? Because no error for not completing double-play.

Thx
BK

I concur with the way you scored it. However, if the batter advanced to 2nd on the wild throw you can assess an error advancing him to 2nd. Might work better if you do it in 2 parts. (e.g. what happened to the batter? safe at first advanced by batter, then after the play click the runner and advance him to 2nd due to throwing error by the ss. As for whether or not it was an earned run, I also agree with you but it depends on what previously happened in the inning. Assuming no errors or passed balls previously advanced the runner who scored, you're correct.
