Relief pitcher or starter charged w/loss?

If you have any rules related questions, please ask in this forum. In general, enforcement of rules is up to the Umpire of the game and iScore does not specifically enforce them, but we want to make sure we score within them. Ask here, and experts can chime in.

Relief pitcher or starter charged w/loss?

Post by Flying_fish72 » Mon Apr 30, 2018 10:25 am

If the starting pitcher gives up 3 runs in first inning(1/3 innings). The relief shuts it down the other 2/3 innings, then the home team ties in the bottom of the 1st 3-3 but ends up losing 6-4. who is charged with the loss? I would assume the relief because the home team tied up the game but the home team never led.

The relief pitcher would get the loss.
