Kid's League Scoring Question

Post by jcg » Mon Jun 23, 2014 11:05 am

Context: U8 Travel League, coach pitch, no stealing bases or lead-offs, no player called timeout (ump calls deadball when play stops)

How do you score base advancement due to inability to recognize which runner needs to be held for the ump to call deadball.

Example:

Runner on 1B
Batter hits a hard ground ball up the middle into the outfield
Batter reaches 1B safely
Runner from 1B reaches 3B safely
Throw comes into 2B and the 2Bman holds it, but ump doesn't call deadball yet as 3B runner is off base towards home
Runner near 3B breaks for Home
2B throws to home good throw just too late, 3B runner is safe at home
Batter breaks for second, good throw from Home to 2B but too late and batter is safe at second
Deadball called

How would you score this chain of events in iScore?

This type of situation happened ALOT in the game where batters advanced extra bases because the defense didn't realize who they needed to hold to have the ump call deadball. Stats at this age don't really matter much, but I'd like to get it correct so I don't peeve off any of the other parents that might watch the scorecast.

You would advance the runners using "On the Throw" when the ball is being thrown around and allowing runners to advance without an error occurring.
