Run limits?

Post by fvsledge » Tue Apr 10, 2012 12:20 am

How do you score an inning with run limits? Exact example which happened last night. One of my kids hit a HR with runners on. We have a 6 run limit per inning. His run was the 7th run as he crossed the plate. Even though he hit an HR I had to mark it as a triple so his run wouldn't count in the official score.

If there are run limits, then that is correct, the home run should be entered as a triple, and then you would use Misc -> End Inning to move to the next inning.

If you would like to give the batter credit for a HR (even though the run would not count), you could tap the runner on third, and enter Safe, Home, Run Not Scored. Then enter the home run.

Running into this issue now. Not sure how to grant the home run once you've given a triple. It seems possible to grant the home run and then go back and adjust the score in the play by play. Is that the best approach with the current version of the app?

You do not grant a home run in a league with run limits. You just give a triple.

If you want to have both the run limits and grant the home run, you can advance the runners on base to home using the "Run Not Scored", and then enter the home run. You are then taking away "runs scored" for the lead runners however, so it is effecting their statistics.

If you really want to grant both, you can override the statistics.
