Okay runner is at first base, pitcher attempts pickoff attempt and throws wild to first. error to pitcher. runner takes off and gets to 3rd base.
When you are scoring do you need to mark each base stolen or can you go pick off attempt, error, move runner to 3rd base and Iscore awards 2 stolen bases?
extending the play due to overthrow
Re: extending the play due to overthrow
Sounds like the runner advancea on a two base error by pitcher throw - not a stolen base.
You would enter In iscore, by tapping the base runner icon at first, and enter a pickoff attempt, then tap runner icon a second time and enter safe at third, error, pitcher, throwing. Correctly, Only one error assigned to pitcher ( not two) and no stolen bases involved. On The scorecard in iscore, you will see an E1 next to 2nd and 3rd to indicate advanced on Error by pitcher
Most leagues have specific rules for what is considered and credited as an official stolen base or not. Or they default to a rule body that does..like MLB or NCAA or NFHS all of
which have nuances.
But Most often ans Under MLB Official Rules of Baseball, if the runner is advancing due to the error or passed ball or wild pitch, they are not credited with a stolen base. Unless in the scorers judgement they would have successfuly stolen the base w/o the misplay (example runner clearly breaka for second before the passws ball).
