Error or Advanced by Batter to note runner advancement?

Post by thomasx » Fri May 01, 2015 8:28 am

This is largely a question about how to score it in iScore ... given that there may be certain rules to better understand too.

Situation A-- Runner 1 on 1st. 2nd batter reaches 1st base on E4. How to best score Runner 1's Safe move to 2B resulting from E?

Do I select Advanced by Batter or "Same Error?" ("Same Error" seems to be affiliated with Stolen Base? Don't know if that's the case...)

Situation B-- Bases loaded. 4th batter reaches 1st base on E4.

Do I select Advanced by Batter or "Same Error?" (in this case, an RBI could be awarded?)

Thanks.

If the lead runners would have scored / advanced even without the error (i.e. batter would have been thrown out at first but lead runners still would have scored), then you would use Advanced by Batter. If the runners would not have advanced without the error, then you would use "Same Error".

And then if a 2nd error occurred, I'd select Error (instead of Same Error)? Thanks.

Yes, if another error occurred you would select Error and enter who caused that error.
