interference?
interference?
Runners on 1rst and second 2 outs. Batter hits pop fly to shortstop. Runner on first runs into shortstop as/before she is catching the ball and causes her to drop the ball. runner from first is called out for interference ending the inning. When recording this I had to choose between out by "runner interference" and "off. interference". I chose "runner interference". Is there a difference between the two choices though?

Re: interference?
This would be runner interference. Offensive interference would be used on the batter for example when a runner is trying to steal third base and the batter does not get out of the way of the catcher's throw-down.

Re: interference?
Thank you, that explains why there were two choices. It is interesting when I look at that rule that the runner can be out for something the batter did. Do I have that right?
