Correctly scoring errors

Post by kpetit1 » Sun Mar 22, 2015 8:08 pm

Hello All,
I was looking for some help in scoring 3 plays from a game this weekend. It is a high school game, varsity level between to small schools in California. I have posted 3 links to you tube videos created of the plays and look forward to your input and reasoning.
Thanks in advance,

We can not tell what is going on with the plays from these videos, but if you want to describe what happened and have a question about it, we can answer that.

I agree with FTM that it is difficult to determine what is going on in these plays. I can't tell anything at all about the second play (fly ball to outfield it appears). As near as I can tell, the first and third plays look like simple E5 calls for the scorer given that this is varsity level high school. My son plays freshman level HS ball right now and I would call those errors at that level from what I can see. In the first one, it looks like F5 just over slides past the ball I can't see if it is a bad hop or not. The third video, it looks like F5 charges the ball and gets there right at the bounce point. I would consider that a misplay. Now if it is a very fast runner or something like that which would mitigate the misplay on either video, then that should be considered as well.

Is there anything in particular that you saw to change this?
