Google Calendar

Post by mwhittington » Mon Apr 11, 2011 6:01 am

I have my website up and running. I've created a google calendar and added all of the information. However when parents login or when I do from another computer I'm asked for my google id and password each time. Is there a way that parents can view this without logging in to my account?

thanks,

Mike

There is a setting with google calendar for public view or password/private. Check your settings on google.

Yes the issue is public/private settings in google.

It is pretty straight forward to find the "public accessible" 'embed' code but a bit to harder to find 'private embed code' ... But it is there.

This is one that I "know you can do' but always forget how.. So here it is how to embed a private google calendar into iscore team web site..so users do not need to have or log into google account first.

Instruction
Log into your google calendar
(assuming you have already set up the calendar you want to share)

In google calendar go to...
calendar settings > calendar tab > select calendar (click the name)
..you should be at calendar details tab..scroll to bottom/end until you see "private Address" areas.. click the blue HTML box, then Click the configuration tool link..
(this is the key, finding this special configuration tool)

You can play with this page, when satisfied copy the HTML code to iscore.
This is what you paste in iscore calendar page..

Iscore team site
Log in as admin
Go to calendar page, scroll down, to embed code box..paste embed HTML code in provided box, then click set.

This should work

For those familiar with google calendar this is very straight forward, the only real trick is finding the somewhat hidden private configuration tool

Whew
