iScore Basketball Scorekeeper version 1.0 has been submitted to the App Store and is now awaiting approval from Apple.

Building on the principles of iScore Baseball, the iScore Basketball product uses the same "score what you see" approach to tracking a basketball game. If a player takes a shot, you press a button that says "Shot". If a player commits a foul, you press a button that says "Foul".

You can score as much detail as you like (including shot locations, passes, specific foul types, etc) or just score with basic statistics (even for a single player if that is all you want to track).

In addition to all the same Player Management, Team Management, Game Management, League Management, and in depth reporting / emailing you have come to expect and love from iScore products, iScore Basketball includes an interactive "Shot Chart" that allows you to analyze team and even individual shots. You can see "key matchups" in this view and filter by player name and period.

iScore Basketball will be the best scoring experience available to iPhone / iPod Touch users, and we are very excited about its release.

How long did it take for the initial versions of your other apps to be approved?

iScore Baseball initially only took about 4 days when it first came out. Apple had gotten very slow for a while (one update took about a month), but lately they seem to be approving pretty quickly. We are hopeful it will get approved sometime this week.

What is the price going to be on the initial release of iScore Basketball? Will it stay the same as baseball?

The price is going to be $9.99. Baseball will soon be changing to $9.99 as well (we mentioned this a long time ago, but have not put it in place yet). Thank you for your interest.

I suspect Basketball will be too !!! Are you also going to continue with a lite and pro version?

We will definitely have a "lite" and "pro" version of baseball (though the actual names may be different than that). The "pro" version will be what iScore Baseball is now (so all existing customers get it for free), and the "lite" version will not have the online capabilities (iscorecast, iscorecentral, etc).

We are not sure if there will be a lite and pro version of basketball yet. We will have to see how that product evolves and what the iScore community would like to see added to it. As you will probably remember from baseball, we came out with our initial release, and quickly updated it as the iScore community offered suggestions for improvement. We expect the same will happen with basketball.
