Quirk in leagues filtering players
Quirk in leagues filtering players
Ftm...
Building off other posts on name/number issues.. i think i found part of the issue.. a quirk/bug in league filtering on players.
Example...
Set default league on
Create a new team with new plyers names and numbers
(players inherit default league as their league)
Now Create a brand new league and turn it on too
Assign new team to new league ( and unassign new team from all other leagues, ie no longer part of default.
Now with both new league and default league both on,
go to team manager, select team and review roster/ edit a player..
All good -,name and number works ..... But
But now turn off default league in team manager, and now go review the new team roster, and you will find the player names and numbers are getting lost (prior poster call out)
For those reading a workaround in near term is to enable all leagues..
Hope this explanation can be followed, if not let me know and can try to explain better

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
We went through this scenario, and this is actually how things are expected to work. When you drill down to the details of a player, you are drilling down to two things... the "Player" record and a "Team Player" record. By turning off the Default League that the player was created in, you are effectively hiding the Player record from iScore. You are saying you do not want to see players in the Default league. If you go to Player Manager, you will see the player is hidden.
What you have now done is said the Team is in the "New League", but the players are not, and you are then filtering to only "New League", so the team shows, but you can not get the details of the players because you have turned off the league they are in (thus hiding the data).
If you are going to have a Team in a league that the players are not also in (hard to think of a reason to do this, but maybe there is one), then you should make sure the All league is selected when you are editing rosters so you will be able to see your player data. The easiest thing to do is to make sure the All league is selected any time you are editing Rosters in Team Manager, and only turn it off when you are doing some reporting for specific leagues.

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
I get the league filter process but that is not the focus issue, the issue is you get half the info, you get player number but not name or player name but not number.. you should get all or none, not half.
if you have it solved, great no worry on this end. i understand the league /player relationship, but what i don't get is the lost player name or number.
the point on the league filter, was perhaps it would give you clue to where the mixed up code is underneath causing the half info on name/number.OhioTex wrote:Ftm...

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
The Player Name comes from the underlying player record. The player number comes from the "team / player" relationship. So you will see the player number even if the underlying player record is hidden because of leagues, but you will not see the player name because that is in the player record.

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
I am trying to build scouting reports from previous games. I go to the team I am looking to scout and select stats but only get summary for the team. I want to see what each player did in summary for the games we played against a specific team. Right now it looks like i have to go back to each game and export the game stats and then summarize them in a new excel workbook. Can you get the summary information at the player level from the team page?
Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
you should get player by player stats..
check that league filters are not the issue Turn on ALL League (League Manager > ALL) and see what you get ..
if you get stats with all league enabled, you just need to go through and clean up your league assignments to games, teams and players.
If you don't get any stats, 1) are their games with the team "Final" 2) did you delete players (recommend not deleting players for this reason among others)
If this does not solve, post back and we can try step two

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
What you are seeing is actually the correct behavior. When you view Stats from Team Manager, you will see a summary stat row for each player for all the leagues that are selected. If you want to view stats of individual games, you must go to each game and view stats of that game.
You can use leagues to see a summary of stats in any way you would like. You are saying you would like a summary against a certain team. If you create a league, and put only the games you played against the team you want to see the summary stats of each player for in that league, then uncheck all leagues except for that one in League Manager and go to the Team and view stats, you will see summary stats for each player against only that team. Maybe the way you would want to do this is create a league called "Scouting", and before each game, against another team, put only the games in the Scouting league that you are interested in viewing the summary stats for. Then enable only that league and view team stats.

Re: Quirk in leagues filtering players
(FTM - i believe he said he is only seeing one row, the Summary row for team, but is missing the row for each player. you can get that if you have no games final or messed up leagues as you know.. and perhaps if you delete players but i have not tested that..)
Kpavell
so you have the special ALL league checked, (League Manager > ALL (check mark)
and still have no player specific stat rows (Home > TeamManager > Team > Team Stats... )if ALL league checked, that is not normal..
Is it true for all teams on your device?
Are you sure the game with the team at issue is FINAL ?
(Game Manager > look for F under period for games with the team at issue)
Check the roster under team manager are players there?
(Team Manager > Team > Roster)
And you are sure you never deleted the players in player manager for that team?
(if that is the case, may be a way to regenerate the players, have to think on that one)
these are my three ideas.. If not them, you may want to export your data (Option > Export) and send an email to support@iscoresports.com, include in email your device id, and explain the issue, eg, Home > TeamManager > Team > Team Stats... no player data.
